BIO

Andrew Hull is a highly accomplished classical guitarist and composer, known for his dynamic performances and captivating compositions. A finalist in the Guitar Foundation of America International Competition (1999) and a Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay under the mentorship of Abel Carlevaro, Andrew has cultivated his artistry through extensive training.

He holds degrees from prestigious institutions including the San Francisco Conservatory (studying under Dusan Bogdanovic) and the University of Arizona (with Thomas Patterson); and also studied at USC (under William Kanengiser and Scott Tennant), and the California Institute of the Arts (under Stuart Fox). 

As a composer, Andrew's focus has been on creating evocative and compelling works for guitar ensembles and soloists.

His most recent composition, premiered by the Triada Trio at the Laguna Art Museum on May 5, 2024, showcases his talent for crafting engaging and expressive pieces. Additionally, he recently completed a commissioned work for the acclaimed soloist Kevin Enstrom, adjunct Professor of Guitar at Pepperdine University.


Andrew's compositions have garnered attention and acclaim, with publications such as the '3 Caprices for Guitar,' released by Mel Bay, and '7 Family Miniatures,' featured in Productions d'Oz. His dedication to both performance and composition underscores his commitment to advancing the artistry of classical guitar and enriching the repertoire with his distinctive voice.
